Important Information Re: COVID-19


At Barefoot Studio your health and wellness is always our top priority. We are adhering to cleaning and safety protocols as we strictly follow the Australian Government guidelines, updates and recommendations with regard to COVID-19.

To help reduce the risk of infection to you and others please practise the following guidelines:

 COVID-19 Barefoot Studio Guidelines

  • Please do not join the class if you feel unwell, even if you feel fit enough to workout. If necessary seek advice from a health care professional and notify Cherie at Barefoot Studio.

  • Anyone who enters the studio or waiting area will be required to use the hand sanitiser which is available at entry. Plus any other necessary occasion; after using the bathroom, coughing/sneezing, or after touching potentially contaminated surfaces.

  • Clients are asked to adhere to the 1.5 meter distancing rule at all times.

  • Cover coughs and sneezes with an elbow or a tissue and avoid touching the face, eyes, nose and mouth.

  • Dispose of tissues/wipes in the bins provided.

  • Please do not touch any merchandise unless you are purchasing.

  • Clients must only touch the reformer and equipment that they will be using for the class to eliminate any cross-contamination. We are only using equipment in the studio that can be completely disinfected during the class change over.

  • Each reformer has its own allocated disinfectant and cleaner 2:1 spray and 2 cloths. After class please clean and sanitise any item you may have touched/used by applying a number of pumps from the atomiser onto the surface, clean down the surface with a one cloth, and then dry the surface by using another cloth.

  • Non-disposable cloths are placed in designated bag and are laundered and dried appropriately before reusing.

  • Clients are asked to bring their own personal towel, water Bottle and Pilates Grip Socks.

  • If you have any symptoms or are feeling unwell after visiting our studio (within two weeks) please adhere to government guidelines, seek advice from a health care professional and notify Cherie at Barefoot Studio.

  Detailed Information on Cleaning & Disinfection Procedures and other Safety Measures

Hand Sanitiser

We will have multiple dispensers of alcohol-based sanitisers in the studio to sanitise your hands before and after class.

Disinfecting of high touch surfaces

Staff will also be paying extra attention to disinfecting all high-touch areas such as door handles, and benches at the numerous times throughout the day.

Routine studio clean

A rigorous clean of all studio equipment, studio space, and common areas are being undertaken between each morning and evening session. (See Routine Clean Procedure below.)

Instructor social distancing

Each reformer is now fitted with a removable, easy to disinfect cover that will be on each machine. These will be cleaned by clients after use.

Storage box

At the front of each reformer, members will find a freshly cleaned tray to use as a safe space to store shoes and any other personal belongings. This tray will be disinfected by the instructor in-between each session.

Studio Routine Cleaning Protocol

Our studio will be cleaned before and after each class and adhere to protocols in relation to Covid-19 to help reduce the risk of infection to you and others. One of our staff members will clean the studio using the following steps:

  • Put on clean gloves prior to cleaning.

  • Thoroughly clean all surfaces using the 2-in-1 (detergent and disinfectant) and water with a disposable cloth supplied.

  • Pay particular attention to frequently touched areas, i.e. door handles and benches. If necessary use a separate disinfectant after cleaning.

  • Allow the product to remain on the surface for the period of 10 minutes or as specifi­ed by the manufacturer.

  • Mop floors using product provided and water.

  • Place all used (reusable) cloths into the sealed laundry bag provided.

  • Gloves should be discarded after each clean.

  • Clean hands immediately after removing gloves using soap and water or hand sanitiser. Check there are adequate supplies of cleaner, soap, hand sanitizer, towels etc. If stocks are low, notify Cherie.

  • If a person who has been at the studio is suspected or confirmed to have COVID-19, see Decontamination Cleaning Protocol document.

 
 

 Decontamination Cleaning

If a person who has been at the studio is suspected or con­firmed to have COVID-19, we will thoroughly clean and disinfect all areas of suspected contamination.

One of our team members will clean the studio using the following steps:

  • The studio will be closed to the public during this time.

  • Open outside doors to increase air circulation and then commence cleaning and disinfection.

  • PPE before cleaning (provided), disposable gloves and safety eyewear to protect against chemical splashes.

  • Follow the routine cleaning protocol.

  • Clean all hard surfaces with 1,000 ppm (0.1%) bleach solution.

  • All soft surfaces should be professionally cleaned/machine washed at a high temperature.

  • Cleaning equipment including mop heads and cloths should be laundered using hot water and completely dried before re-use. Cleaning equipment such as buckets should be emptied and cleaned with a new batch of disinfectant and allowed to dry completely before re-use.

  • Once cleaning is complete place all disposable clothes, PPE and towels into a rubbish bag and place it inside another rubbish bag (double-bagging) and dispose of the bag in the general waste.

  • Clean hands immediately after removing gloves using soap and water and follow with hand sanitiser.

 COVID-19 Case Suspected Or Confirmed

If a person who has been at the studio is suspected or con­firmed to have COVID-19. You will need to follow the steps below:

  • Call the Victorian Department of Health and Human Services Coronavirus Hotline on 1800 675 398 for the latest advice. Action the above advice accordingly.

  • Identify who at the studio had close contact with the affected person. If instructed on the helpline, tell the close contacts they may have been exposed and follow advice on quarantine requirements and next steps as per VIC government guidelines.

  • Commence cleaning (See Decontamination Cleaning Document).

  • Follow VIC government guidelines on quarantine and re-opening the studio. Review protocols in place relating to Covid-19 and review whether they need to change. Consult all staff members on changes or issues.
